Die Ausstellung Orpheus zeigt ein laufendes Projekt von der Künstler:in, MQ Artist-in Residence in den Monaten März und April 2025. Thema ist die historische Zyklizität aus der Perspektive der aktuellen geopolitischen Lage sowie Kindheitserfahrungen der Künstler:in im Tschetschenienkrieg. Durch das Überlagern persönlicher Erinnerungen, Fotodokumentationen und kultureller Symbole erschafft die ASoP Stipendit:in surreale Szenen, in denen historische und mythologische Figuren zu neuen, gewissermaßen absurden Konstellationen verschmelzen.

Die Künstler:in, 1985 in N.N. geboren, erlebte den Krieg schon in jungen Jahren und war gezwungen, zu fliehen. Heute lebt und arbeitet der Künstler in Tiflis, Georgien.

The exhibition Orpheus presents an ongoing project by the artist, the MQ Artist-in-Residence for March and April 2025. Exploring the theme of historical cyclicity, the ASoP fellow draws connections between the current geopolitical landscape and his childhood experiences during the Chechen war. By layering personal memories, photographic documentation, and cultural symbols, he constructs surreal scenes in which historical and mythological figures merge into new, absurd constellations.

The artist, born in N.N. in 1985, experienced the war at a young age and was forced to flee. Today, the artist lives and works in Tbilisi, Georgia.
