Als einem der Highlights des ASoP Jahres 2024 gelang es das in Kooperation mit dem Mozarteum entstandene Stück „Connection“ von, ASoP Europe Stipendiat:in des Jahres 2023 hat, am Wiener Schauspielhaus zur Aufführung zu bringen. Das einer der belarussischen Oppositonsführer:innen, der Musiker:in gewidmete Stück wurde am 11. November 2024 zur Aufführung gebracht. Außenminister Dr. Alexander Schallenberg nahm an dem Abend ebenso teil, wie die eigens für das Stück angereiste Schwester der im belarussischen Strafvollzug befindlichen Maria Kalesnikova, Tatiana Komich.

Die Aufführung quittierte das Publikum mit Standing Ovations und fand darüber hinaus einen starken medialen Widerhall.

Unser besonderer Dank gilt Matthias Riesenhuber, kaufmännischer Leiter des Schaulspielhauses Wien und dem ganzen Team des Theaters für die engagierte Zusammenarbeit und Gastfreundschaft.

One of the highlights of the ASoP year 2024 was the successful performance of Connection, a play developed in collaboration with the Mozarteum by ASoP Europe fellow of 2023. The play, dedicated to one of Belarus’s leading opposition figures — the musician Maria Kalesnikava — was performed on November 11, 2024, at the Schauspielhaus Vienna.

The performance was attended by Austrian Foreign Minister Dr. Alexander Schallenberg, as well as Tatiana Khomich, the sister of Kalesnikava, who traveled especially for the occasion. The event marked the first official sign of life from Kalesnikava since her imprisonment.

The audience responded with standing ovations, and the performance received extensive media coverage.
